Ansley said she met Jason “through mutual friends that he went to vocational school with in high school.” She describes the proposal: “It was our 6 year anniversary, which fell on a Monday & I had been asking him to celebrate on Saturday or Sunday instead of going to dinner Monday due to work and the dog being home alone all day. He insisted otherwise and said he would be out of work in plenty of time for the dog before I got home. We were going to a restuarant in Westbrook that we usually went to if we went to dinner on a week night anyway nothing unusual…We went to dinner & when we got home he took the dog out just like he typically had and I got ready for bed. When they came back in Boomer (the dog) failed to greet me like he usually did and went straight to the couch where I saw he had a purple ribbon around his neck with the ring tied to the top. I immediately cried and he got down on one knee and proposed then I made him drive us 45 minutes to my parents because I couldn’t tell them over the phone.
