What a wonderful wedding weekend this past weekend was. Even though it was chilly at the summer camp–everyone bundled up in under-armor and flannel and laughed, ate, and chatted around the campfire. The ceremony itself was beautiful with their friends and family on all sides of them and Liz’s Dad and brother leading the sermon it was a personalized and beautiful wedding. Everything matched Liz and Dave’s personality so well and everyone came to the camp because Liz and Dave have been such a part of their lives. One of my favorite moments was when Liz was telling her father in law about her grandfathers dancing shoes….and he was next to her smiling. There were people from all over the globe, all walks of life, and everyone brought their personality and best dance moves that evening. I loved the part in the ceremony when her brother read what they wrote about each other and their years together–it was so neat to hear because essentially they both said the other knew them better than they know themselves….thats pretty awesome! It was a weekend full of memories. Thank you so much Liz and Dave for allowing me to capture this Maine summer camp wedding….it was a pleasure.
How did you two meet? “We worked together” (they are both architects)
How did he propose? “Dave proposed in Maine, in the middle of my favorite field, atop of my favorite boulder” (they are always outside working in their gardens, or hiking)
What is your favorite part of wedding planning? We are both designers, so we love designing everything from the save the dates to the flow of the event! (everyone had a custom T-shirt with the wedding logo on it–as well as the lawn games. It was awesome!)
What is the most important to you about your wedding? “We want everyone to know how special they are to us. In every decision we make we ask ourselves if it is going to achieve that goal, and if not, maybe it’s not all that important.”
What is your favorite thing about your fiancée? “Dave’s sense of humor – I laugh every day, multiple times. That is all I could have ever asked for. –Liz How thoughtful she is, Liz knows what I need more than I do. – Dave”
