I had the pleasure of photographing Melissa and Isaiah’s wedding on Sunday afternoon. It was a beautiful day at the Stone Mountain Arts Center. The things I remember the most about the wedding are that they had the longest kiss at a wedding ceremony I have ever seen (it was awesome–I love that you could just tell he didn’t want to take his hands off of her the whole day). The black flies that tried to eat us alive while we were outside taking pictures. The amazing song that Isaiah wrote and performed for Melissa at the beginning of their wedding reception. The absolutely beautiful moment I witnessed as Melissa was getting ready where Melissa’s sister in law and another of her bridesmaids gathered around her to say some prayers to help calm her nerves. I loved the delicious food, and I enjoyed the company of her father and mother throughout the day. I loved the part in the ceremony where all of the parents went up on the alter to say a prayer for their children and bless their marriage. The bridesmaid dresses were the most beautiful ones I have ever seen they are over one shoulder and they have kind of a belt with beautiful flowing skirt to the floor. They were in a blush pink color. The dance floor was packed and it was awesome to see Melissa’s grandma, mother, and father all out there dancing it up. It was truly a wonderful wedding. I wish them so many years of good health, fortune, and happiness.
In Melissa and Isaiah’s words:
How did you two meet: Through my sister at church.
How did the Proposal Go: Since church is where our relationship started, Isaiah decided to propose to me there on November 30th, 2014. Him, his brother and sister in law staged a Christmas card photoshoot outside. It was beautiful and then he played our song and got down on one knee with a sign that said “Marry Me?” He told me all the reasons why he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me and I said yes. Then sang me “Ho Hey” by the Lumineers 🙂
What was your favorite date: We drove up the coast and took at ferry out to Squirell Island for the day. We explored the island, laid on the beach, and got seafood and ice cream in Boothbay after.
What is your favorite thing about your fiancé: I love his tender heart, his patience, and how he doesn’t judge or look down on anyone or their situation……The way she always shows her heart for me and others in every situation, even when its hard you constantly give your heart.
