The sound of the rain was beautiful amongst the laughter. Emily and some of her best friends enjoyed getting ready and reminiscing about choreographed dances, college nights, and some of her first interactions with Ryan. By the time it was time to get Emily’s gown on the rain had stopped. Her dress was so elegant with the long champagne train, the traditional buttons, and the delicate romantic lace top…she wore it effortlessly as she smiled and walked down the isle. Her Dad was beaming with pride, and her smile was infectious.
Everyone laughed as her brother began the ceremony with the perfect rendition of a part of the Princess Bride. It was an emotional day and something that I can completely connect on….because the guitar in the pictures and at the ceremony was her brothers and weddings are really hard when you are missing a part of the family…a part of your childhood, every holiday meal…really just a part of your heart. Family is very important to these two and you could see that as they interacted throughout the day. Emily’s Mom looked out for everyone and Emily’s Dad soaked in every moment he had with his only daughter. Ryan’s Mom was full of joy and kindness, and his Dad was proud and strong. Their siblings were fun and full of love with their families at their sides. It was such a connected feeling as everyone drank, ate, and danced the night away.
So many amazing things about this Barn at Flanagan Farm wedding including the bride “icing” the groom, the groom gifting the bride a ukulele case to match her brother’s guitar case, borrowing a very special family ring, her Dad giving her a “penny” for her shoe in a very cinderella moment, and the best father daughter dance ever. Such a relaxed elegant and fun atmosphere with just the right amount of formality this was a wedding I dream of, and these guys drinking their beer and eating their pizza were one of the best couples ever. Their sense of adventure, love of family, and desire to have a relaxed and fun wedding really made for the best wedding.
