How did you two meet? “We have known each other since Sarah was in 1st grade and Josh was in Kindergarten. Josh was always one grade below Sarah. We attended the same elementary school, junior high, high school, and college.”
How did the proposal go? “I was on vacation one week in July of 2014. Josh told me not to make plans for Sunday, the last day of my vacation. Josh NEVER makes plans, so I knew something was up. We went up to my grandparents farm in Livermore which has always been one of my favorite places. He brought me in the barn and proposed alongside the cows. Though this would not be considered romantic to most, it was the most perfect proposal for me. It was at one of my favorite places and we were able to celebrate with my family directly.”
What was your favorite date? “Josh and I started dating in high school and the story of our first “official” date comes up often. Josh told me he would take me to Olive Garden. Looking back now, I guess that is what we considered “fancy” in high school. The week before we were planning on going, we were watching TV one night, and an IHOP commerical came on. I said how good that looked and we ended up going there instead. We’ve gone there many times since and we seem to be gifted gift cards to there often.”
What is your favorite thing about each other? “My favorite thing about Josh is his selflessness. He goes above and beyond to help not only me and Ruby (my beloved furchild), but also all those around him. We are lucky to have him!
My favorite thing about Sarah is her independence. She can stand on her own two feet, but isn’t afraid to ask for help when she needs it.”
