Happy New Year! I LOVE LOVE this time of year…sadly it is still cold here in Maine and I do not love that 🙂
I love that its a fresh start, and that there is fun and growth to look forward to all year…and the best part is for as much as I plan you NEVER know where life will take you.
That said here is my short term bucket list 🙂
1. I want a blue ribbon at the MPPA print competition
2. I want to shoot 20 weddings at no less than 2,000.00 a piece (and thats LOW!)
3. I want to meet Marcus Bell on my trip with Stacia to the PPA Imaging Convention in a week 🙂
4. I would like to teach a seminar or workshop
5. GET A DROBO SYSTEM! So sick of having to go out and buy drives all the time and my desk looking like a cluster-bleep because of it
6. As much education as possible, maybe even find my way to NYC to intern or assist with a fashion photographer for a little bit
7. Website Optimization…I really want to become friends with Google…right now we are not friends 🙁
8. I want to be published! I am so sad that everyone else I know gets to see their weddings in print but I don’t…So I am going to change that 🙂
9. I would like to begin some kind of weekly blog. I feel as though I have done an alright job for my first few months keeping up with blogging but I would like to have more of a following and focus.
10. More time to get out and shoot for fun! I want to get to AZ to take some pictures of landscapes nothing like the ones I see here in ME everyday.
11. Book at least 1 destination wedding! They are amazing and beautiful and I love the tropical locations.
12. An emergency fund! I need a savings! My longer term goals all involve extensive travel in the next few years so I need $$$$$ for that 🙂 Besides I want to quit my day job and I cant do that without security.
13. Follow my dad’s advice and put minimum of $20.00 away to begin with a month for retirement! Being self employed will leave me with nothing later in life if I don’t get on the bandwagon now!
14. Really pushing my own personal style…I am a candid photographer for sure and I want to be hired for what I LOVE to do. While I have no problem with everything else I would like to really develop a wedding style that can be identified as uniquely me. 🙂
15. Finally set up Shoot Q and Quick Books!
16. Get custom letterpress business cards … stationery made
17. Order the flash drives, custom branded with our logo
18. Invest in nice suits/outfits for weddings, dressing as a representation of our brand. Get back to the gym so that I can feel good about how I look as that is part of who I am…and who I am is my brand 🙂
19. Invest in studio quality portible lights
20. Be a mentor
21. Make sure I am living by the Dale Carnigie Principals!
22. Stop comparing myself to everyone else and really gather confidence 🙂 I love what I do and I want it to show in every way it can!
23. Dropped the ball big time on Holiday cards…I didn’t even send any 🙁 So I need to build a database…in actual database form and send BEAUTIFUL holiday cards to everyone at the end of the year with personal messages!
24. I like photographing babies and I would like to get at least 3 people on my baby plan this year!
25. Bridal Portraits…on the wedding day. I need to make sure I ask for more time and really capture that particular bride in a beautiful portrait.
26. Get more people to visit and comment on the blog
VERY VERY EXCITED! Did I mention to keep dreaming big and remember to thank God more often for all of the wonderful blessings given to me!
