The rain threatened the wedding at Sebasco Harbor Resort but it never came. The nice cloudy sky offered temperate weather and pretty light for photos. What wonderful people–both the bride and the grooms family and friends were just fantastic. This Maine wedding photographer is so fortunate to be a part of such a well thought out wedding. The details had personal meanings and memories for the couple and their families. The ivy in the urns, the handkerchiefs, the venue itself, the connection between the family and the Reverend, and the espresso cheesecake. Each holds its own meaning and story for the couple. It was a pleasure to be part of this coastal Maine wedding.
How did you two meet? We first met our freshman year at Princeton. We soon discovered we had much in common, from being student-athletes to having family dachshunds. Eventually our friendship grew into something more.
After graduation and a brief long-distance stint, Peter convinced Emma to move to Kansas City, and both continued to grow their careers. Several years ago, Fritz, our miniature dachshund, joined the family.
How did the proposal go/what is the story? Peter took Emma back to their alma mater for a lovely fall weekend of walking the campus and visiting their favorite old digs. While passing through iconic Blair Arch, Peter popped the question, and Emma said “yes!”.
What is your favorite memory of each other? The evening we brought home our dachshund puppy, Fritz. Despite our thorough preparation, we each had a feeling of sudden responsibility for another creature, but knew we would be fine together.
What was your favorite date? The night prior to our engagement (Halloween night 2014). We walked along Nassau Street, stopped in some of our favorite shops, visited Nassau Hall, and enjoyed a delicious dinner at Witherspoon Grill (one of our favorite restaurants). We reflected on our lives together and how much our relationship had grown.
What is your favorite thing about your fiancé? Emma – Peter is even-keeled and thoughtful (he’s patient, intelligent, creative and values my opinion as his partner).
Peter – Emma is the most empathetic person I’ve ever met. She has an incredible ability to connect with others, which is not a strength of mine.
