It was so nice to finally get to meet Hilary and Seamas for their winter engagement photos at their 2017 wedding venue Laudholm Farm. It was a beautiful day but a pretty chilly one in Maine. We walked a little over 2 miles through the trails around the farm and it was around 15-20 degrees….they were such troopers! We slipped and slid all over–since it had rained recently there was a fair amount of ice on the walkways and trails. It was awesome to enjoy the walk with them. These two have been together for 10 years! They met on one of their fist days at Lafayette College and connected because they both were from New England. Hilary had moved into the dorm early due to a community service project she was working on and Seamas and his roommate were making rounds introducing themselves. They lived essentially opposite each other, and began dating not long after meeting. They have done it all–moved across the country together, travelled the world, they have even been long distance while working on graduate studies. Currently Hilary is almost done with her Doctorate in nursing, and Seamas is going to be attending a program to become a physical therapist. Seamas asked Hilary’s family for her hand in marriage before they took a camping/hiking trip to Montana together. Hilary had no idea of his plans to propose! They had to cut their trip short because their flat haired Retriever tore her ACL. Seamas said he proposed the first night when they got to camp–he had tucked the ring all the way down at the very bottom of the pack so that it wouldn’t get lost. He also ordered a special ring box that actually had a light on it! Hilary said she loves the ring and that it actually fit her finger so she was able to wear it right off. They said it was awesome to be able to enjoy the next day together just the two of them without having to tell anyone. Apparently it was beautiful weather during the day but became pretty chilly at night. Sounds like a perfect trip!
